Bluetooth Rocks
Awhile back, I got a Sony Ericsson T616. I’ve had it for about 5 months and I’ve been very happy with it overall. Probably the coolest thing about this phone is the Bluetooth. When I was deciding on a phone, I knew I wanted a Bluetooth phone. My Powerbook has Bluetooth built in, might as well use it right?
Why is Bluetooth so cool? First of all, no wires. Different peripherals can talk to each other without wires. That’s always a good thing. Why is having a Bluetooth phone so cool? If you have a Mac with Bluetooth, you can do some cool stuff. With iSync, you can synchronize your contacts and calendars between your computer and your phone. So when I first got my phone, I didn’t have to manually type in all of my contacts. With iSync, all I had to do was open up a program, add my device, and click a button. It also syncs your iCal calendars, and this has got to be the coolest thing in the world.
I usually never know what I’m doing when I’m supposed to do it. Sometimes someone will ask me when I work next, or when I have some free time. It would be helpful if I could have access to my iCal calendars with me all the time. With iSync, Bluetooth, and my SE T616, it’s possible. Take a look at the picture. I basically have iCal on my phone! iSync transfers everything over, even alarms. So whether I’m on the go, or at the computer, something is there to remind me that I have to do something.
But wait, there’s more. In another post, I’ll talk about some freeware that makes having a Bluetooth phone even more worthwhile.
