I have designated March to be my travel month. It’s the midpoint between New Year’s and Memorial Day, which is the biggest gap between my holidays. It only makes sense to take a couple days off in March to hold me over in between holidays. Last year, I went to Chicago and San Jose and I had tons of fun on both trips. I went to visit my high school buddy Karen in Chicago over St. Patrick’s Day weekend and I went to San Jose for my cousin Arlyn’s baby shower.
This year, for my 2nd annual Travel Month, my cousins and I are making our way back to New York. My brother’s spring break is next week and since he can’t come home to visit family, family is going to go visit him. Since we got most of the must see tourist spots out of the way in July, we can spend more time doing what the locals do. As they say, when in Rome…I’m also going to try to visit an old friend when I’m out there. I haven’t seen her in 3 years and it would be awesome to meet up again. We are both very different people from when we knew each other and it would be interesting to catch up. In one week, I’ll be on a JetBlue plane to NYC to stock up on work clothes, eat pizza, enjoy crisp early spring weather and spend time with my bro.
And just like last year, I’m going to follow up my cross country trip with a trip to the Bay Area. This time, it’s with the roommates. If all works out as planned, I’ll be in SD this weekend, NYC next weekend, then the Bay, then we’ll have our usual LA/OC weekend to round out the month of March. Oh, these are the days… =)Posted on March 2, 2006 in Uncategorized.
