Washington DC and $100K Dream Weddings
October 08, 2009
Last week I had the privilege of watching my good friend and parallel Van get married in Washington, D.C. Now this was no ordinary wedding. Van and her fiance Eric were the winners of US Magazine and WeddingChannel.com's Dream Wedding. I was planning to watch her get married before she ever won the contest but after news of her selection as the winners made me even more excited. I was also excited to visit DC since it's been almost twenty *gasp* years since I've visited. It would be more meaningful to visit all the monuments and museums since I'm old enough to appreciate them.
The highlight of my trip was the wedding. I have never been to a more "elegant" wedding. Everything about wedding from the venue to the service to the reception was jaw dropping. I'm so glad that I was able to watch one of my closer friends get married. After the wedding, I would have to admit that the museums were the next best highlight. When I was younger, I was ALWAYS fascinated with science so I basically reverted to an 8 year old boy when I visited the National Air and Space and Natural History museums. I spent the majority of my Saturday in those two museums. I did so much walking that my legs had basically given up halfway through the American History Museum.
I posted all my pictures to Flickr but here are some of the highlights of the trip.
